Church can’t constantly put up ‘Do not enter’ signs, Francis tells Colombians

During a Mass in Medellin, Colombia, on Saturday, the second city of the overwhelmingly Catholic country and one long notorious as the center of Colombia’s thriving drug trade, Pope Francis returned to a trademark theme: The Christian life, he insisted, isn’t about rigidly following rules and precepts, but about reaching out to people, especially the sick and sinners, and walking with them.
