With a heavy heart I send my prayers of fair well to Fr. John McNeill SJ. Even though expelled from the society of Jesus, Fr John is the man Dan Berrigan described as “the Jesuit”. He was the spiritual director to an entire generation of queer Catholics. He was a prophet, a pioneer, an activist, a scholar, a friend and a spouse to Charlie. He was a proud gay man. I will miss him. I hold a dear memory of hosting him in Jeff’s and my home. RIP in John, I love you.
