President Obama has replaced conservative, anti-gay Pastor Louie Giglio with pro-LGBT rights Reverend Luis León to deliver his inaugural benediction next week.
Giglio withdrew from the ceremony last week after reportes have surfaced on his anti-gay positions.
León is an Episcopal priest who ministers at St. John’s Church, also known as ‘Church of the Presidents’ just across the park from the White House.
León has previously publicly expressed his support for gay-marriage and diversity and opposition to prejudice.
This parish is known to welcome gay and lesbian members in addition to blessing same-sex unions and ordaining non-celibate LGBT priests.
